Last block: Entering the Fine-Tuning Phase: It’s Time to Polish the Diamond
If you’ve made it this far, congratulations! You have successfully overcome the most demanding weeks of Block 2. You’ve accumulated solid volume, embraced the discomfort of the threshold zone (Z3), and trained your mind to keep pushing when the arms felt heavy.

Now, with Week 8, we officially enter Block 3: Simulation & Tapering.
This week is all about assimilation and fine-tuning. We maintain a solid base of volume, but we begin to trim away the deep fatigue. The goal shifts from building endurance to sharpening your speed and finding maximum efficiency in every stroke. You should start feeling lighter, faster, and more reactive in the water.
What’s on the menu for Week 8?
In the pool: Quality over quantity. We keep short bursts of speed and controlled Z3 pace, but with more recovery to allow your muscles to absorb all the hard work from previous weeks.
In the open water: A smooth, enjoyable 1.5 to 2 km swim in Z2. Focus on feeling the water, enjoying the glide, and locking in your natural rhythm.
Your mindset for this week: Trust the process. It's completely normal to feel a bit restless as the volume stabilizes. Your body is taking all the stress from July and August and converting it into pure fitness.
The Final Countdown: Trust Your Training and Get Ready to Fly
This is it. Week 9 is the final piece of the puzzle before we pack our bags and head to Mallorca.
After two months of dedication, early morning pool sessions, open water journeys, and continuous effort, it’s time for total discharge and activation. The hard work is already done; now your only job is to rest, recharge your glycogen stores, and let your body reach its peak form.
How we wrap up the preparation (Weeks 8 & 9 Summary): During these final two weeks, we drastically reduce the overall volume while keeping small, sharp activations. We want your arms fresh, your nervous system awake, and your motivation at an all-time high.
The Last Steps:
Mon / Tue (Session 1): Pure tapering—short, crisp, and comfortable.
Wed, Sep 2 (Session 2): Light activation. A quick tune-up to keep the water feel alive without generating any fatigue.
Thu, Sep 3: Flight day & Welcome Splash in Mallorca! ✈️🌊 After arriving on the island, we’ll head down to the sea for a relaxed 800m–1k welcome swim. No clocks, no pressure—just washing off the travel, feeling the Mediterranean salt, and sharing the excitement of what's ahead.
Looking back to look ahead:
Take a deep breath and look back at Week 1. Remember the doubts, the first Z3 series, the continuous 30-minute swims, and every kilometer accumulated under the summer heat. You didn't just train your arms—you built resilience, confidence, and a team spirit that will carry us through every single meter in Mallorca.
From the quiet pool lanes in July to the 7 km queen stage awaiting us in the Mediterranean, you are ready. The work is in the bank.
Pack your goggles, bring your best energy, and let's go enjoy the reward we’ve earned.
See you in Mallorca, Momentum team!
💚🏊♂️ Mallorca awaits!
